## Dailymotion

Dailymotion is a video hosting and social video platform with public creator profiles and public video pages. A backlink can be added through a profile website field or as a contextual URL in a legitimate video description, but the inspected public links were nofollow.

Dailymotion is useful when you already have a reason to maintain a public video presence. The quickest backlink path is a public profile website link; the second path is a video description link attached to a real uploaded video. Both inspected paths were nofollow, so use Dailymotion for referral traffic, entity consistency, and branded discovery rather than as a dofollow shortcut.

### Method 1: Add your website to a public profile

1. Create or sign in to a [Dailymotion account](https://www.dailymotion.com/signin).
2. Open your account or channel profile settings.
3. Add your website URL in the profile website field and fill out the profile description so the page looks legitimate.
4. Save the profile and open the public profile URL while signed out or in a private browser window.
5. Confirm the website link is visible on the public profile.

The public AppsDevPro profile showed a website link and social links, all rendered with `rel="noopener nofollow"` in the browser DOM.

### Method 2: Put a contextual link in a video description

1. Start from Dailymotion's upload flow at [dailymotion.com/signin?urlback=%2Fupload](https://www.dailymotion.com/signin?urlback=%2Fupload).
2. Upload a legitimate video: a product demo, tutorial, event clip, customer story, interview, or other media asset that belongs on a video platform.
3. In the video details, write a useful description and include one or two relevant URLs where viewers can learn more.
4. Publish the video publicly.
5. Open the finished Dailymotion video page and inspect the description link. During research, URLs in a sampled video description rendered as clickable anchors with `rel="nofollow noopener"`.

Do not upload low-effort clips just to place a link. A Dailymotion link is most defensible when the video gives viewers a real reason to click through to the destination page.
