## OpenSea

OpenSea is an NFT and onchain marketplace where creators can publish collection pages. A collection owner can add an external website link on the public collection overview, but inspected collection links are nofollow.

- URL: https://opensea.io
- Guide: https://backlinkbadger.com/provider/opensea/
- Link type: nofollow
- Free option: no (from $1)
- Backlink value: 6/100
- Spam score: 1/100
- Difficulty: 55/100
- Estimated time: 45 minutes
- Requirements: Crypto wallet, OpenSea account, NFT collection assets, Collection website

OpenSea is useful as a backlink source only when you have a legitimate collection to publish there. The practical link is the collection website or overview link on a public OpenSea collection page, not a general-purpose profile link.

### Method: Add your website to an OpenSea collection

1. Connect your wallet and open [OpenSea Studio](https://opensea.io/studio).
2. Create a collection or choose an existing collection that you control.
3. Use the collection editing flow to fill out the collection details and overview page. OpenSea's help docs say the collection description can include useful links and that the overview page has **+ Add links** for an external website, X, Discord, Telegram, and similar collection links.
4. Add the canonical website for the collection. Avoid using this field for unrelated lead-gen pages; the link should help buyers or community members understand the collection.
5. Save the collection page and check the public page while logged out.

A public collection example: [https://opensea.io/collection/boredapeyachtclub](https://opensea.io/collection/boredapeyachtclub). The collection website link is visible in the collection link area, but the inspected anchor used `rel="nofollow noopener"`.

### Link quality and caveats

Treat OpenSea as a referral and trust surface for NFT projects, not as a clean dofollow SEO placement. The sampled collection website anchor was a direct link to the collection's external site, but it included `nofollow`, so this page marks OpenSea as nofollow.

OpenSea's creator workflow is also higher-friction than a normal profile edit. You need wallet access, collection assets, a public collection page, and sometimes cryptocurrency for gas fees. If your project is not genuinely related to an NFT or onchain collection, forcing a link onto OpenSea will look spammy and is not worth the effort.
