## Hatena Profile

Hatena Profile is the public profile service for Hatena IDs. A profile can show an owned website link and identity links on a `profile.hatena.ne.jp` page, but the inspected owned-site link was nofollow.

Hatena Profile is useful when you already have, or can credibly create, a Hatena identity. The backlink path is a public profile/homepage link, not an article placement or directory submission.

### Add an owned website link to a Hatena profile

1. Create a Hatena ID from the [Hatena registration page](https://www.hatena.ne.jp/register?via=201020) or sign in with an existing account.
2. Open your profile from `https://profile.hatena.ne.jp/my/` or the profile/settings link shown on the Hatena Profile homepage.
3. Edit the profile details and add your owned website URL in the homepage or external-link field.
4. Save the profile, then open the public page at `https://profile.hatena.ne.jp/<your-hatena-id>/` to confirm the link is visible.
5. Keep the profile human: add a short bio, connect relevant identity links, and avoid using Hatena only as a one-link drop.

### Link quality notes

The inspected owned-website link on `https://profile.hatena.ne.jp/secondlife/` rendered as `rel="nofollow"` and opened in a new tab. That makes Hatena Profile a conservative citation and referral opportunity rather than a dofollow SEO shortcut.

Some Hatena profiles also show social identity links with `rel="me"`. Those links can help connect identities, but they usually point to another social profile rather than directly to your site, so the owned website field is the clearest backlink method to document.
